Here and Not Here

belhaven university | 2017

Created for an intergenerational cast of pre-professional dancers and children, Here and Not Here explores grief through memory, movement, and companioning. Inspired in part by the writings of Brandon Shaw on grief, memory, and relational identity, the choreography reflects on absence not as emptiness, but as an ongoing presence woven into our lives.

I live and work on the ancestral lands of the Monacan Indian Nation, a Siouan-speaking tribe of the piedmont and mountain regions of Virginia.
